Spotlight on Partnership: Good Work Austin

At LifeWorks, we know that empowering youth and young adults means more than just providing resources—it’s about building meaningful partnerships that open doors to a brighter future. One such collaboration is our partnership with Good Work Austin (GWA), a trailblazer in creating sustainable solutions within the restaurant industry. Together, we are working to equip aspiring culinary professionals with the skills, confidence, and opportunities they need to thrive.

Cooking Up Success Through Training

Through GWA’s Culinary Workforce Training Program, participants gain hands-on experience and in-depth education in the culinary arts. The program is designed to help participants build foundational skills, foster creativity, and provide the tools necessary to enter Austin’s dynamic restaurant industry. LifeWorks supports this mission by identifying and connecting young people who have the passion and drive to succeed in the kitchen.

Our caseworkers work hand-in-hand with GWA to recruit trainees, offer wraparound support during training, and celebrate their accomplishments at graduation. This seamless collaboration ensures that every student receives the support they need to navigate challenges and unlock their full potential.

"Our partnership with LifeWorks has been vital to the success of our culinary training program, allowing GWA to better understand clients’ experiences and strengthen student support. Their caseworker team was instrumental in finding trainees who could thrive in the program, supporting recruitment and providing resources to ensure success. They’ve gone above and beyond by attending classes and assisting participants through graduation. We deeply appreciate their dedication and look forward to continued collaboration."

Beyond the Kitchen: Building Futures

This partnership is about more than culinary training—it’s about creating pathways to sustainable careers and stable futures. For participants, the program offers an opportunity to turn their passion for food into a profession, providing them with a sense of purpose and a tangible route to independence.

For LifeWorks, this collaboration is an extension of our mission to help youth and young adults reach self-sufficiency. By connecting our clients to innovative opportunities like GWA’s Culinary Workforce Training Program, we can make a lasting impact on their lives and our community as a whole.

A Recipe for Continued Collaboration

LifeWorks is proud to partner with Good Work Austin to support the next generation of chefs, bakers, and restaurant leaders. Together, we’re creating a recipe for success—one that includes skill-building, mentorship, and empowerment every step of the way.
